Anna Silk was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, the daughter of Ilkay Silk, a prominent actor, director, producer, playwright and educator in Fredericton. She graduated from St. Thomas University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997. She appeared in at least two productions with Theatre St. Thomas, Seven Menus and The Kitchen.
Anna is noted throughout Canada for playing Deb, a bitterly angry and overstressed flight attendant attempting to quit smoking in a NicoDerm nicotine patch TV commercial.
She moved to Toronto to further her acting career in November 1999. Since approximately 2008, Silk has resided in Los Angeles, and as of 2009 portrays the title character in the Canadian television series Lost Girl.
She met actor Seth Cooperman, 
an actor and writer whom she met in an acting workshop in 2007. Anna and Seth got married twice – first in December 2009 and then had a Jewish wedding on April 10, 2011. Anna was never devoted to any one religion, and made the decision to convert to Judaism as Seth’s faith is very important to him. Their permanent home is in Los Angeles.

- ​​Very well known as Deb, a disgruntled flight attendant from the Nicotine commercials. Anna is often asked at airports whether she is a actual flight attendant.

- Anna became a vegan from the beginning of 2nd season onwards.

-Trained with a martial artist prior to season 2 (in Lost Girl) to prepare for her physical scenes.

- Speaks English and French and can understand some Spanish


- She got nominated at the Gemini Awards as Best Performance by an Actress in a Guest Role, Dramatic Series for: "Being Erica" (2009). For episode "Everything She Wants".
